Good for your baby’s tailfeathers (a giveaway!)

(Yes, it’s true…another giveaway!  After several years of no giveaways on this blog, we have two in as many weeks!  So if you haven’t already, make sure to enter the giveaway for the eBook Real Fast Food — it closes tonight at midnight.)

Before you’re a mama, you don’t often think about things like diaper cream.  You have no idea that diapers and their contents can become a frequent topic of thought and conversation.  But lo and behold, once you have a little one, it becomes a very important subject.  Especially if your baby has a tendency toward irritated skin and is prone to diaper rash.

Both of my babies struggle with that and even though using cloth diapers majorly cuts down on the irritants, they still regularly have some diaper rash pop up, especially when they start eating a lot of solids.  With Cedar (who actually doesn’t deal with this anymore since he’s now almost completely potty-trained…YAY!) I tried so many different diaper creams to try and help his little bum!  Straight coconut oil, different green salves, Burt’s Bees Baby Bee Diaper Ointment, Boudreaux’s Butt Paste…nothing seemed to work.  The oil-based creams didn’t really do much at all and the zinc-based ones helped a little, but could never totally kick it.  I didn’t want to resort to something that contained petroleum products and other chemicals since I definitely didn’t want that stuff on my baby’s skin, but I was getting desperate.  But then, so thankfully, I discovered Graham Garden’s Tailfeathers Zinc Cream.

At first, paying $16 for a five ounce tub of diaper cream seemed a little expensive for me, but I took the plunge and haven’t looked back since.  It is so worth every penny of that.  Tailfeathers Zinc Cream has kicked every single rash I put it on.  Plus all the ingredients are totally natural so I don’t need to worry about the fact that I slather it all over my babies’ sensitive parts.  And, one of my favourite features — it comes in a tub so you can get every last bit out (and control how much you use), something that never happens with the stuff that comes in a tube.

And now, for the best part, Graham Gardens has very generously offered to give one of my readers a scented BabyBird Gift Basket.  These lovely little baskets not only contain a tub of their amazing Zinc Cream, but also Graham Gardens’ BabyBird Powder, Body Oil and ButterBar.  All you need to do is visit their website, look around and then come back here and leave a comment telling us which Graham Gardens’ product appeals to you the most and why.  Giveaway closes on Wednesday, May 9th, at midnight PST.

This giveaway is now closed.

  1. Hmmm….their site looks awesome! I would love to try their diaper cream. Our miracle salve and homemade version work pretty good most of the time, but I wonder if this would work when that fails….? I’ve ended up having to occasionally switch the kiddos over to sposies to get rid of rashes. :-/ (but, on an honest note related to that….they’re both currently in sposies at night for the past few weeks. We were having soaking-wet-wake-up-freezing-cold-in-the-middle-of-the-night leaks every single night….with both. No matter what I tried….so I’m taking a break ’cause I’m tired. One of these days, I’ll be motivated to try figuring out something different, but for now….I’m too tired to risk it. :-))

I also loved the look of their bugbar- that one’s a hard one to deal with naturally.

They have a lot of fun looking stuff….they’d make great gifts for pampering a mom in your life. 🙂

  2. Our first little one is due in a few weeks. Though I hope we won’t have to deal with too many diaper rashes you never know, and it’s good to have something on hand that can knock it out!

I would love to try their Bug bar someday. It looks great!

  3. Aaah! I want to win! I’ve really wanted to try some Graham Garden products. The rash cream most of all. I’ve been on their site before and looked around, but I’ll be honest that their site is NOT loading for me right now, so I honestly haven’t been on it specifically for this giveaway.

My kids actually don’t deal with rashes all that much, but we also cheat and do sposies at night once they hit a year or so. (I toughed it out for a solid year with Hans, until he was 2, and tried EVERYTHING to get rid of the stink; finally I switched to sposies at night, pretty much no problems since with either kid.) Otherwise the nighttime diapers make ALL the diapers in the pail smell like ammonia and they get horrible rashes. But for that rare diaper rash Gretchen does get (Hans is potty-trained now). . . I’d love a cream I wouldn’t mind using :-).

    1. It’s kind of nice to know I’m not the only one cheating right now…. 🙂 It has helped with rashes (although the dipes still stink….I know I really need to strip)….although the biggest reason as mentioned above was sleep. Too tired to stay up for an hour+ (and have Ben do it with Vivi) changing/drying them, fixing the bed, and soothing back to sleep a thoroughly awake child. 😀

  4. I looked at the Graham Gardens’ products and loved all of them. All are natural and look more healthier to me. I would like to try one of them.

  5. I love Graham Gardens’ products. I love the bug bar. Truly natural, effective bug repellant is tough to come by. My daughter loves putting it on herself. Thanks for the giveaway opportunity!

  6. I have tried the diaper cream, would love to try the rest of the Baby Bird line. Thanks for the chance!

  7. I recently just purchased some the natural Butter Bar and the Rugged Relief. I am thinking about purchasing the BugBar next–I’ve refused to use insect repellent for years because I don’t like the chemicals–but I’m tired of getting bitten with all of the camping and outdoorsy things I do. I’m hoping the BugBar will do the trick when I’m in the tropics on my honeymoon this summer!

I wish I had a baby just so I could use these products. Good thing we have lots of family having babies right now!

  8. I am already a big fan of Graham Gardens! I love their soap and bug bar. But I have not had a chance to ty their baby bird line and my sweet baby’s sensitive could really use it!

  9. I am always in search of a good lip balm: I like that theirs also has calendula flowers in it.

  10. Diaper cream. All of the baby bird products! Peppermint or orange and peru lip balm. The bug bar would be amazing to try!

  11. I would definitely want to try the zinc diaper cream! I have tried ALL the same things you have for diaper rashes…and while I feel Bordeaux Butt Paste works really well, it would be great to get something even more natural.

  12. I just found out about Graham Gardens and got the tailfeathers zinc cream! I’d love to try all the soaps and scrubs…in fact, there’s nothing that doesn’t sound amazing! Our next little one is due in June and I’d also like to try the other baby bird items.

  13. I have used a few Graham Gardens items and thought they were great! I’d love to try the Body Oil for Baby and also the Bug Bar!

  14. Wow…the site looks awesome! I haven’t experienced diaper rashes yet, but I’m sure that’s coming, once our little one arrives in August. I’ve actually been looking for a good, natural diaper rash cream that has a good success rate and doesn’t ruin cloth diapers, so…that would probably be my item of choice, if I were to buy something from Graham Gardens at this moment. Although the baby powder looks good, too. Especially for a hot little newborn in August!

  15. I’d love to try the rash cream, since I’ve heard SO MUCH about it. 😉 😛 I just can’t bring myself to spend that much on it, but maybe if I won it and then saw how wonderful it is with my own eyes I might be able to. 😛 lol

  16. The diaper cream looks really nice… mostly because I’m almost out of my current kind and we’ve been battling some rash lately. Yay for solid foods…

  17. Oh, I’d have to say the bug block looks most apealing to me!! I’d love to try it out. I always get discourage when going camping or swimmng and the mosquitos are in full swarm!! DEET is just so harmful but so can mosquitos!!!

  18. I was just on their site looking at the rash cream! Charlotte never got rashes but Milo is prone to them. I was on the fence about spending the money on the rash cream but I may try it now. I I don’t win 🙂

  19. I would love to try their Citrus Butter Bar! I have been eyeing lotion bars for a while, and the scent sounds lovely! We have very dry Michigan winters, and my skin gets so cracked…the butter bar sounds like it would help tremendously.

  20. Well I think their baby stuff looks great but another thing I think I’m going to try is the avocado and oatmeal unscented soap (it is said people use it like a facial cleanser and with this pregnancy I’ve been battling with the acne so i think i will try that.
My husband and I have always tried to do things as naturally as possible in our lives and it is difficult since he is in the military and finding new health food stores or natural places every time we move is really hard so thanks for sharing the site!

  21. I had not heard of Graham Gardens until you mentioned them here in your post. They have several items (especially the baby items) that look interesting, but I have to say the bug block looks most appealing to me. Where I live the bugs are just horrid, and they are constantly causing Josie such bad problems that she cannot play outside. It would be nice to use something that is totally natural!

  22. I’d love to try the Gardner’s Hand Repair bar! I spend a lot of time cleaning or digging in the dirt and I can’t handle a lot of lotions on my skin. This sounds like it might do the trick for keeping my hands from getting too rough. 🙂

  23. Wow, they have some nice looking stuff! Their lip balm and scrubs sound so nice! The diaper rash cream sounds great! We haven’t really had much problems with diaper rash so thankfully I haven’t had to try lots of products. My mom got me a cool little stick of a natural thing for your “baby’s bum” but thankfully we haven’t had to use it very much! Anyway, sounds like such a fun giveaway! 🙂

  24. I would love to try the Tailfeathers Zinc Cream for my newborn or a Butter Bar for me!

  25. I’m excited about any of the baby products … we’re expecting our first in August, and momma has very sensitive skin. They all sound excellent for the sensitive, soft new skin I’m sure our little girl is going to have!

Of course, the Bug Bar sounds amazing for all three of us … grandma and grandpa have a farm and we plan to spend lots of time out there … but of course, with that come bugs. And I’d rather not be dousing us with chemicals! I’d never heard that about the catnip – good info!

  26. Dunno where my comment went o.O

JASMINE LOTION!! Would definitely like to try that and other of their products. I signed up for their mailing list too. Definitely interested in their products for future purchases.

I have a 3 and a half yr old. A 1 and a half yr old and a baby due in November!! Yeah I can really use stuff!! LOL!!
